Reroof with Boral Lightweight Tile

Boral Roofing's Portfolio of Lightweight Reroof Products

Roof replacement accounts for 75% of all the roofing materials installed annually in the US. This is due to relatively short life-cycles of most roofing products that have been used over the past 20 to 30 years like wood shakes and asphalt shingles. When considering a roofing product for a reroof, life-cycle costs and other factors should be taken into account. Boral Roofing offers a full complement of lightweight clay and concrete products designed for use in reroof situations.

Weight is one of the primary considerations when reroofing. Most structures that were built over the past 50 years were designed to support roofing systems that do not weigh over 750 pounds per square (100 sq. ft.). Most building code agencies call for engineering reports and possible structural modifications if the roofing product in the system weighs more than 600 lbs. per sq. Boral Roofing produces a full line of lightweight products that are specially design for the reroof market that weigh under 600 lbs per sq., making them ideal for any reroof project.
