Boral Stone Products Showcases Industry-Leading Offerings at International Builders' Show

Companys premium building solutions continue to surpass performance and sustainability standards

Las Vegas (February 4, 2014) -- An industry innovator for more than half a century, Boral Stone Products is providing an exclusive look at its diverse selection of Cultured Stone® veneers at the International Builders' Show Feb. 4–6,

2014 in Las Vegas. With a visit to booth #C6137, IBS attendees can see for themselves why Cultured Stone® products continue to surpass industry standards for sustainability, performance and value.

A leader in sustainability, Cultured Stone® veneers have a minimum of 54 percent recycled materials as validated by UL Environment. They also meet the stringent GREENGUARD Gold standard issued by UL Environment, which represents the most rigorous building product emissions criteria to date. Certification was determined through comprehensive testing methods that measured emissions of total volatile organic compounds, individual volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde and other pollutants. In addition, Cultured Stone® veneers hold the distinction of being the first in the industry to have been Green Approved by the National Association of Homebuilders.

Cultured Stone® products also offer superior performance, determined by ICC Evaluation Service to be in compliance with the International Building Code®, International Residential Code® and California Building Code®. ICC Evaluation Service has issued a report stating that Cultured Stone® veneers meet AC-51, the particularly tough acceptance criteria for precast stone veneer. Compliance with AC-51 was determined through strict evaluations regarding weight, strength, density, moisture absorption and other established criteria. To achieve compliance, stone veneers cannot exceed 15 pounds per square foot, which is key because this allows for greater design flexibility. And the concrete mix used to make stone veneers must withstand at least 1,800 psi compressive strength without damage, thus ensuring durability for years of service.

By utilizing extensive research and input from architects, builders and designers across the United States and Canada, Boral Stone Products ensures that its Cultured Stone® offerings reflect the latest in design trends and technology. Cast in molds of natural stones and meticulously hand colored, each Cultured Stone® veneer texture is created with painstaking care and superb artistry to give it the look and feel of real stone. Made of lightweight aggregate materials, Cultured Stone products® are approximately one-quarter the weight of full-thickness stone, allowing for greater versatility since they can be adhered to most wall surfaces. A varied selection of more than 100 colors and more than

20 textures makes it easy for architects to create custom looks with Cultured Stone® veneers. These stunning building solutions add beauty and curb appeal to any residence, with the addition of a Cultured Stone® facade reported to increase the perceived value of a home by 10 percentA 63-point inspection process on all Cultured Stone® veneers insures quality.
